Fernando H. Calmet, MD
Gastroenterologist
Dr. Fernando Calmet received his medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru followed by residency in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL where he then served as chief medical resident. He completed his Gastroenterology fellowship followed by his Transplant Hepatology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital. During his gastroenterology fellowship he followed a specialized track in neurogastroenterology and motility and during his transplant hepatology fellowship he ran the gastrointestinal motility lab at the University of Miami Hospital in Florida. He then completed his Advanced Endoscopy fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Calmet joined the faculty at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in 2019. He is an active participant in medical student education at Tufts University School of Medicine and in resident education at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology.
