Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Facilities

The Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit at Newton Wellesley Hospital features state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.  Newton Wellesley is one of a few hospitals in the state certified by the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.  Our gastroenterologists work to keep current with the latest innovation and technology in the field. Our unit performs more than 15,000 procedures per year, making us one of the largest centers in the state.  Our comprehensive care includes diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound and anorectal and esophageal manometry.

The dedicated physicians and nursing staff ensure that every patient’s experience is comfortable.  Our recovery area provides the privacy that patients need to rest after procedures and to discuss endoscopic findings with physicians in a private setting. Our nurses follow up with each patient on the day following the procedure to ensure a smooth recovery and to address any concerns the patients might have.
